Hey folks, hope ya'll are doing well, with this journal I'd like to address the lack of content as of late, my deepest apologies, as a lot of you are aware I have been really ill of late, my doctor diagnosed me as having a lung infection, and in addition to giving me medication to fight it had recommended that I take time to rest and focus on recovering...
That said I haven't been just sitting on my ass all day, in fact I've already got the first few pages of Dubious Encounters ready for upload, I've been working on them slowly but steadily, and they only have a few finishing touches, namely: Sound Effects.
One of my biggest self-criticisms with The First Farewell was the lack of sound effects, it's something that bothered me from pretty early on, and I was surprise that no one mentioned it (criticism is always welcome after all), the thing with sound effects is that they're much easier to incorporate into Digital Work, due to the fact that you're usually working with programs that use Layers, since pretty much every step of The First Farewell, from line work, to colours, to shading, and text is all done traditionally I'm basically working with one layer and things can quickly feel cluttered, but I think for Dubious Encounters I'm going to try to add Sound Effects in digitally, though they will still be drawn traditionally to keep the style consistent, but pasted in where needed...
Furthermore I think I'll be doing the sound effects in Aurebesh as opposed to English, I always feel that English sound effects come off as rather goofy whenever I'm reading comics, in fact one of my favourite things about reading Manga, as opposed to English/American comics, is when the Manga keeps the sound effects in Japanese, on top of it not being as goofy as seeing "KA-BOOM" or "POW", I find it visually pleasing also, so I think using Aurebesh for the sound effects would be a neat idea, I'd appreciate feedback on this idea. ^_^
Besides that, I've been saying for a long time that I want to start streaming gaming more regularly, the biggest problem is my crappy internet, though the Government has made it clear that they deem the internet as as much a neccessity as Electricity and Water, and aim to have full fibre-optic coverage of the country by next year, currently our internet is garbage... Y'see, I mainly play multiplayer, I have the most fun playing big team vs team games, like Battlefield and Battlefront, or Overwatch, and the like, and my internet struggles to play those games when I'm streaming... That said there are a number of singleplayer games coming out that I'm really excited for, namely Nioh which is like a cross between Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden, I had fun streaming the Beta even though it kicked my ass, I love a challenge and I'm really looking forward to more, and think it would be really fun to play it whilst interacting with chat.
Another game which I've got and am looking forward to playing is Gravity Rush 2, the original Gravity Rush being one of only two games where I actually bothered to complete 100 percent, getting Gold medals in all the challenges, and finding and unlocking everything, including all the trophies, it completely captivated me, Gravity Rush is honestly one of my favourite games of all time, criminally underated due to it's initial release as a PS Vita exclusive (the Vita itself is criminally underated, it's a shame it sold so badly, and Sony has basically written it off...), thankfully the first Gravity Rush was re-released on the PS4, anyway the game's gravity shifting mechanics are incredibly fun to play around with, and the game's pseudo French-Japanese inspired world is absolutely gorgeous, so I'm really excited to experience more.
There is also the final Dark Souls 3 DLC coming out next month, which as things stand is the end of the series as a whole, so I'm thinking of creating a new character in Dark Souls 3, and playing everything right up until the end of the game in prep for the final DLC, currently I'm thinking of an Orchid Shara playthrough, I've already created Orchid in the game, I can get her likeness almost spot on, blue skin and all, though I want to start again and actually create a themed build, I'm thinking it'll be something of a Faith build, utilising Miracles and such, I've never really tried a build like that, I think it could be a lot of fun!
I've also been playing some Ark: Survival Evolved, not gonna lie, I adore this game, though there's a lot of downtime farming stuff, so I don't think that'd be fun to watch, and probably won't stream it. Fun fact though, I have a very powerful Spinosaurus, and I named her Priscilla because she reminded me of my Imperial OC... I'm wondering about Dinosaur-like creatures in the Star Wars universe, maybe Priscilla could have something like that as a pet, similar to how Jabba has a Rancor, maybe... XD
Anyhow, that's all for now, as ever, Peace, Love, and may the Force be with you!

Prints?
Hey folks, its that time again, that time I always DREAD, I'm low on ink, and markers are a PAIN in the Bank to replace, I'm trying to save £200 so I can do a BIG bulk order (with that many I can both get a discount, AND hopefully the main colours I use should last till Summer) so I was wondering about maybe selling prints. Would anyone even be interested? What pieces of my work would people like (I'm open to suggestions!)? Where is the best place to even SELL prints since it seems DA doesn't seem to do that anymore? I also have a ko-fi tip jar (https://ko-fi.com/sith_art) if you're feeling generous, but there's no pressure, its a tough time of year for everyone, I'd really like to figure out Prints, so at least you'd also get something out of the deal. Anyway hope you have a good holiday season, Love & Peace. ^_^
title I guess
So apparently Ai generated shlock can get daily deviation awards? Man this site fucking sucks these days. : ) It ain't about artists no more, staff sold it's soul, and now we're inundated with a deluge of mass produced, robot-made garbage, never thought I'd miss the days where the worst thing about browsing this site was the risk of a furry fetish jumpscare (no offence if thats your thing, just ain't mine), but man, I'd rather risk picking up a new thing I wish I could bleach from my eyes than the flood of artificial shit. Its why I'm so rarely online here, DeviantArt has no heart anymore. This relentless encroachment by parasitic Leechware into art, its demoralising, and seeing artists you (used to) respect cave and start using it because "I cannot complete", it makes me sad... and angry. You sold your soul, and you sold out your peers, you're nothing more than defeatists, invertebrates. I'm legally blind, I have Dyspraxia, I still draw with my own hands, what's your excuse for
SithPosts!
Hey folks! As you can probably see if you're reading this ("probably" and "if" because Eclipse is STILL a mess...), I've had a little rebrand! What's changing...? Probably just the name honestly. Still the same old Midori, still the same Star Wars content, just a new name. I've wanted to change for a while now, though most folks know me as Midori (And i still like it too) so thats staying, I much prefer Sith Posts, more properly ties me to my Star Wars content. it also helps because I use MidoriSithPostsArt as my handle for my Twitter account, so it makes it easier to manage especially for signatures. (Though I sign my work in Aurebesh now, so I guess it doesn't matter to most folks who aren't Star Wars nerds xD) Art wise, I'm in... a bit of an awkward situation at home, tl;dr, I'm tying to move out, lockdown has made family life... hard, and I need distance. I'm hoping to get it sorted maybe in the new year, so art will be very sporadic for a while still, though at the very
*angry old man noises*
Okay folks, look, I can't stand Eclipse, and I'm still learning how to navigate this mess, but rest assured I'm not going anywhere, I'm a stubborn man, and I love the community who've congragated around mine and my friends' works, I'd hate to lose that. I AM still going to bitch and moan about it every step of the way though. xD
