First Farewell page 4 by MidoriNoHonoo First Farewell page 4 by MidoriNoHonoo
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Quinn Shara, a Force-sensitive teenager, struggles with the monotony of life on a backwater world, she craves a greater meaning in life as the rest of the Galaxy passes her by, she may well find that meaning however, as she crosses paths with Isabelle Devon, the leader of a fledgling rebel group. Will the ambitious young girl seize the opportunity to finally take charge of her destiny, and pursue her dream of becoming a Jedi?

Previous Page -- Next Page

Fourth page for my Star Wars OC AU fan-comic-thingy! :heart:

Focus shifts to the pilots of the ships that passed by Quinn, their colourful forms racing across the sunset, and as their leader reminds them of their brief they trade friendly banter back and forth. I really like the flow/format for this story as a whole, (thank SlingBlade87!) as it switches perspective back and forth between Quinn and Isabelle, it'll become more apparent in future pages. ;P

I really enjoy drawing ships, though again, I the designs might be slightly inconsistent... Particularly I'm looking at the HWK's "wing" engines... Though i'm running with the idea that they might be modified to allow them some movement, kind of like flaps on a plane's wings (only in this case it's the engines themselves) to allow for more versatile maneuvers, putting it on par with a fighter in terms of maneuverability? I dunno, again I'm gonna have to call upon Slade's wisdom! ^^;

I hope ya'll like the designs anyhow, and I hope you're enjoying it, I'll try to pick up the pace a bit! ;w; As ever feedback is greatly appreciated! :heart:

It is quite refreshing to see a Bothan as an active character. I like your design of him and I hope he sticks around. Bothans are one of the species that need more fan love.

Heh, wonderful dialogue.
Love how the speech bubbles flow from panel to panel here.

Heheh, a lot of the dialogue is thanks to help from SlingBlade87, as is a lot of the story structure. :meow:
I like playing with the flow, though it definitely works some places better than others.

I really like the color coded speech bubbles, I know that's partially for your own benefit right?

There you go again giving me credit for something I didn't do!

As for the HWK-290's wings/engines, the way they're built could certainly be construed as a variable geometry design though we're never given any indication of this in canon or on screen ever but I certainly concur that the structure of the wings/engines could very well indicate a structure designed to increase maneuverability through shifting the position of the wings/engines in the same way that vectored thrust does on fifth generation fighters.

In more relevant news, I really love this page and seeing an image of U'ric finally is quite teh treat! You did an especially fine job with him but I love the faces of all the characters and the details given both them and the ships. This really is well done to be candid and you are delivering quality work quite masterfully.

Nonsense, you gave it structure, and that's what I'm following! XD

Yeah, it's the way that they're joined, it looks like there could be room for movement, or at least to modify them to allow movement, if not though, eh, I can admit I messed up my perspective in the top panel. ^^;

Ahw, I'm really glad you're enjoying it, I'm sorry it's taking me so long to upload pages, and reply to stuff too, July was a really busy month, and I'm exhausted, hoping August will be more relaxing... ^^; Heheheh, well U'ric is on the title page, but it's good to see him behind the flight-stick. XD It was really fun working one this page, and the different characters, U'ric and Zomori are fun to draw, though admittedly out of my comfort zone, U'ric particularly, the ships though are always a treat for me to draw! ^_^ Ahww man, you're definitely too kind! XD

I think you have given it far better structure than I might have.

And I believe that your logic is sound in regards the HWK's wings and certainly within the realm engineering feasibility.

No need to apologize, we all get busy certainly. I myself will likely begin to get very busy again shortly which will certainly be interesting as my business can also get rather protracted sadly.

I do adore the way you depict and portray all the characters, your art style lends a life and vibrance to each of them which is readily apparent and while you may adore the ships you are equally skilled with the people flying them.
