Black Magic - Skoll

Skoll was a fearsome sight indeed, a warrior if ever I saw one, Galgriev was sadistic and Kiri unhinged, but Skoll... It was her raw strength that worried us the most, she didn't rely on tricks like Cortosis blades or or subtle coercion, nor did she let herself lose control, and give her body to the Dark Side, no, Skoll was a fighter, she'd survived the horrors of her training on strength and strength alone, and just like her victories her scars were trophies to be proudly displayed, and her opponents, they were merely challenges to overcome, nothing more... ~Quinn Shara's published works, "The Empire's Dirty Secrets: Black Magic", an introduction to the chapter on Skoll.

Star Wars OC AU stuff! And it's been a while since we've had a new character, but I was talking a little with SlingBlade87 about an idea for a member of Black Magic Squadron, Galgriev's coven of Witches of Dathomir, and decided to develop an idea I had for one, so, without further ado, let me introduce Skoll, the Warrior Witch!

Skoll is the third in Black Magic's line up, behind Kiri and Dead-Eye, her physical strength however is unmatched among the Witches, and she has learnt to channel the Force to further augment her physical abilities, strength, endurance, stamina, etc. beyond that however her ability to actually utilize the Force is limited, she can give a gentle push for example... It's this that holds her back from usurping the top spot from Kiri, in a purely physical bout she'd likely win, but Kiri's power comes from her endless rage, her savage use of the Dark Side keeps the other Witches in line, even Skoll dares not provoke Kiri, especially if her mood is already foul... In battle Skoll brandishes her very own Greatsaber (A.k.a. Saberclub, but Greatsaber sounds cooler...), a type of Lightsaber typically used by species with a much larger, heavier frame, however with her strength she's able to swing it with relative ease, and when enhancing her strength through the Force even swing it one handed! When wielding her Greatsaber one handed she is able to hold her shield, which is typically attached to her pauldron, in the other hand, she's also very skilled at unarmed combat, her strength allowing her to fight off opponents even as strong as Zomori!

Like the rest of Black Magic she is also a skilled pilot, and chooses to field one of the Empire's heaviest Ties, the Tie Punisher (A.k.a. the Tie Interdictor.), a beefed up bomber capable of laying waste to even the mightiest of enemy ships, a role she enjoys, charging her enemies with little regard for their smaller fighters, often simply ramming through anyone unfortunate enough to get in her way, her ship's frame built to take the punishment.

Originally I was running with the name Grendel for this character, a reference to the Giant of the story Beowulf, I love the name Grendel, though it has something of a feminine ring to it, which don't get me wrong, is exactly why I like the name, but I didn't think it really fit this character, then there was Y'mir, a Giant from Norse mythology, also one half of my main Attack on Titan ship... But again, too feminine, though continuing along the Norse mythology vein (I loved Norse and Viking mythology as a teenager ) I found a name that sounded perfect, Sköll, in Norse mythology, is one of the wolf Fenrir's pups, Sköll and Hati chase the sun and the moon respectively, until they finally capture and devour their celestial pray on the day of Ragnarok... Skoll is just the perfect warrior name, fierce and guttural, I just adore it! XD 

I must admit, I'm not very skilled at drawing more heavily built characters, but this was fun, and good practice, Skoll's armor is made up of a lot of Stormtrooper armor, I think Black Magic's aesthetic will be variations on different types of Imperial armor. Her Warpaint is reminiscent of Kiss, whether or not this is intentional I'll leave up for debate.

Aaaaaanyhow, I've talked enough, I hope this looks alright, it's a little sketchier than usual because this was her being designed, also I've been pretty busy and distracted as we've had a major medical emergency in the family... I'm a little behind on comments, please forgive me I'll try to reply ASAP, but for now please enjoy this, and as ever feedback is greatly appreciated! ;w;
